Method
- Cut the skin off each orange, but don't worry about perfection; it's okay for some rind to be left on.
- Roughly estimate half of your tofu block and slice. If using the full block, omit this step.
- Toss oranges, frozen raspberries, and tofu into your blender.
- Blend until smooth. Serve in your favourite cups.
Notes
For sensory sensitivities/preferential palettes:
- Consider blending fruit first and pressing through a sieve to remove seeds if your blender doesn't achieve the finest product
- Consider adding tofu into mixture to blender in small amounts to taste to assess texture and sweetness; tofu is a more neutral flavour and increases thickness which may decrease the sweetness and create a thick denser consistency
- Consider adding honey or maple syrup to taste if using a higher amount of tofu when littles enjoy sweeter shakes
- Try flavoured soft/silken tofu for different flavour additions like coconut if tropical flavours are enjoyed
