Hi I’m Liam!

Supporting clients to honor their nutritional needs by gaining autonomy in their recovery from disordered eating, healing their relationship with food, building of body trust, and living their preferred life as they (re)navigate self-discovery in a neuronormative world.
Work with MeAbout Liam Fowler, RD (he/him)
Hello, my name is Liam (he/him), and I’m a Registered Dietitian and dietitian-in-training to become a Certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor (expected 2026).
I provide neurodivergent-affirming, weight-neutral nutrition care that is person-centered grounded in dignity, autonomy, and respect for lived experience. My work is informed by an understanding that nutrition does not exist in a vacuum — it is shaped by nervous systems, identities, access, culture, and the realities of living in a neuronormative world.
I am passionate about supporting individuals to build trust with food and their bodies in ways that are realistic, flexible, and supportive of their unique brains. In practice, this means meeting clients where they are and offering practical, low-barrier strategies rather than rigid rules or one-size-fits-all plans.
Areas of Practice:
- Neurodivergent-affirming nutrition care for adults
- Disordered eating in athletes and sport nutrition
- Intuitive Eating
What neurodivergent-affirming care can look like:
- Supporting with food skills (planning, preparing, and feeding yourself when energy, motivation of capacity is limited)
- Navigating sensory sensitivities, rigidity or food fears
- Meal planning using accessible, low barrier foods
- Support during periods of burnout, stress, or life transitions
- Exploring nutrition concerns alongside neurodivergence, OCD, or disordered eating
- Building a more peaceful relationship with food
I practice from a weight-neutral, gender-affirming, and trans-inclusive lens, and I believe health is not defined by body size. Health includes physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing, and meaningful change is most sustainable when folks are supported in developing autonomy and self-trust. To do so I approach care using the SAFETY model to help develop neutral relationships with food that meet nutritional needs while minimizing distress.
As someone who has personally navigated late-identified neurodivergence and the impact of masking on my relationship with food, I bring both clinical training and lived understanding into my work. I focus on health gain rather than weight loss, and I find deep meaning in helping clients move toward food freedom, nourishment, and confidence around eating.
Outside of work, you’ll often find me making messes in the kitchen, exploring my new home of Vancouver Island on foot, or waiting (impatiently) for next season of The Great British Bake Off.
