Our Summer Sunshine Smoothie was so yummy, we turned it into popsicles for the scorcher days we are experiencing! There is nothing better than a delicious cooling and hydrating snack for hot summer days. Offering your child a variety of hydrating foods can ensure they stay hydrated while spending more time in the heat.
Hydration is extremely important for kids, who are more prone to dehydration than adults. Littles may forget to drink, have less noticeable thirst cues, dislike water due to sensory sensitivities, or might refuse altogether (especially when we interrupt their playtime). That’s why we have to get creative with as many high water foods, fluids and liquids as possible to keep them hydrated. Popsicles are a great way to make hydration exciting. For more information and tips on hydration check out our blog post.
Why do we love this flavour combination so much?
Oranges and raspberries are rich in water and packed with vitamin C. Tofu offers a creamy softer texture while also providing a good source of plant-based protein and calcium. Combined, these ingredients create a nutritious and refreshing popsicle that keeps kids happy, nourished and hydrated.
Switch up the berries in these popsicles, and make fun, new flavour combinations. Who can make the winning flavour? You can also add full pieces of fruit into the popsicle for a fun surprise! Sprinkles anyone? Dipped in chocolate? Share your favourite creations with us!
